Dear Dr. Baum --

My dogs both have fleas. I have told my dad about Advantage. But he thinks it will
shorten my dogs' lives. How can I convince him that it will help my dogs with their
flea problem?

Thanks,
Janelle, from Culver City, CA

Hi, Janelle --

You can tell your dad that I have used Advantage for the last eight years and have found it to be highly effective in controlling and eliminating fleas. One of the main reasons that I especially like it is due to it's safety. Advantage is not absorbed into the dog's system and thus the body does not need to chemically process it. We have had virtually no other reactions other than a rare irritation to the skin at the point of application. You can reduce the cost of buying Advantage, if you have small dogs, by buying the larger dog sizes and splitting the dose in an appropriate manner. If this doesn't convince your dad, he is welcome to call me at my office to discuss it.

Good luck!!!
